Wouldn’t it be nice to know exactly what corrections have been processed for any instruments, at any point in time and data history roll-back?At DataGenic we understand the importance of having a ‘single version of truth’, the handling of corrections and the impact this can have on your daily operations. Time and time again, data will need to be corrected from it’s original post. This can happen the same day, next week, or sometimes months after. How do database systems handle this? Unfortunately, not very well! Several well known data aggregators in the market ‘overwrite’ the erroneous value with the corrected value. This is not good database management. So what do we do at DataGenic to handle this problem?Data VersioningWhen a correction is processed for a particular vendor/ instrument, Genic DataManager automatically takes a snap-shot of the instrument data at that point in time, before the correction is applied. That means, there are now two time-series (profiles) for the instrument. One is the snap-shot time-series before the correction is applied (which has full data history with no more write-access) and the second time-series is the most recent corrected one. Clients now have the ability to roll-back to previous data versions for report generation, auditing, settlement purposes etc.![]() Corrections ReportingClick here for an example Corrections Report (PDF Format)Clients can subscribe to corrections Notifications emails, based on their instrument of choice. In addition to this service, Clients can easily generate their own Corrections Report in CSV, PDF, XML and XLS. It couldn’t be simpler. You can even filter these based on the absolute level of corrections and automate the process for generation of the file. ![]() |
