Dale came into SunGard as Chief Data Officer and president of corporate Enterprise Data Management (EDM) where he recruited and built an industry-leading specialty team to drive the firms overall EDM strategy defining and launching integrated data management strategy internally & in the market leading $100 million new business. EDM Council: Dale was personally one of the 3 founding partners of the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) council co-sponsored by IBM, Sungard and GoldenSource now a successful global council with 70+ financial members globally. President & CEO, FAME: Dale lead FAME from specialty time-series software vendor to global leader in Energy and Financial data management services. FAME was a Warburg-Pincus backed global company with over 300 clients in 30 countries and offices in 15 countries. FAME provided specialty tools, consulting and data to service front office analytics, research, investment advisors, risk management, trading, public sector and emerging energy markets. FAME was acquired by SunGard in 2003. At FAME Dale restructured the company and launched a successful strategy to leverage its data management capabilities into the emerging reference data management market. Under Dale’s leadership, FAME signed many major deals, implemented a successful partnership with Nikkei in Japan, turned the corner financially to attain solid profitability, scored 2 years of record sales growth and secured industry recognition by Waters magazine, which named FAME as the Top Global Data Management Solutions Vendor for 3 years in a row. President & CEO Benton Associates Inc: Prior to FAME, Dale was the founder, President and CEO of Benton Associates, Inc., a global consulting, software solutions and quantitative analytics company he founded in 1992, acquired by FAME in 1998. Benton clients included major buy and sell-side firms using the “Benton Workstation” an analytics workbench used by over 1,500 desktops for pre-trade analytics and data mining. Benton grew from a standing start to a profitable team of 60 people with offices & clients in 4 countries. Significant clients / engagements included several enterprise-wide analytics platforms, a major algo / basket trading decision support system (JPMorgan), leading portfolio optimization (using Garch / Arch) for global fund managers, mission critical performance attribution (Fidelity), and a successful risk data management platform used by over 10 firms in Europe and NorAm. Algorithmics: Before founding Benton, he was VP of Business Development, Sales, Product and Marketing at Algorithmics, Inc. Dale lead a focused management team of financial engineers that built the key product road-map driving Algorithmics breakout / sales phase leveraging Algo’s early risk tool-kit. Dale lead the launch of several solutions including Hedging, Bond Portfolio Immunization, Enterprise Risk and Options Models / financial engineering. Market Data Vendors: Dale held senior account management and sales positions at Reuters, and senior product manager for Interactive Data. Dale was one of Reuters first Focus Group Account managers for the 3 top Canadian Banks leading the sale of several major $multi-million deals in trading room systems (Triarch / TIBCO), securities lending, and in trade processing. Board Positions: Dale is currently on the board of directors of Covarity, a firm providing software solutions for commercial loan monitoring. He is also on the board of Diaphonics, a voice recognition solutions company focused on compliance in financial markets. Dale is also on the board of the Jazz Apprenticeship Program, a NYC-based educational / mentoring program for aspiring inner city jazz kids. |
